Miya Parishad leaders Mohor Ali and Abdul Baten have been sent to two days of police custody over the Miya Museum controversy.

The controversy grew bigger when arrested jihadis in the custody of Nalbari police claimed that two members of the Assam Miya Parishad had been in contact with them. The revelation was made by jihadi elements Jubir Hussain, Abu Rayhan, and Haider Ali who were arrested only last week.

This big development came less than 24 hours after authorities sealed the building where the controversial museum was set up.
Authorities sealed up the building over allegations of wrongful use of the premises. The building was originally built under the central government’s housing scheme ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’.
It was also learned that Mohar Ali who was employed as a tutor in a school, was suspended from service last month for alleged anti-government activities. The other leader Abdul Baten retired as a teacher from the BN College in Dhubri.
