Master Chef Season 7 Finale: Assam’s Santa Sharma and Nayanjyoti Saikia in top 3

India’s popular cooking reality show Master Chef India is coming to an end. Marking a thrilling journey to date, including many nail-biting challenges to some emotional moments, it has been hell of journey for every participant. The show has been of special interest to Assam because two of the contestants – Santa Sharma and Nayanjyoti Saikia, both from the state, have made it to top 3.

The latest episode is titled, ‘The Cook-Along Continues’ where the home cooks endeavor to match the chefs’ techniques and pace in the intense cook-along of reimagining the street foods of India.

The dish was – ‘ Aloo Tikki’

The finale episode of MasterChef India 7 will air on March 31.

Hailing from a humble background, both Nayan and Santa have made the people of Assam proud with their cooking skills and near-perfect table presentation.

Nayanjyoti Saikia (23) resident of Tinsukia works in a tea garden with his father and enjoys cooking since his childhood days. Saikia started his cooking journey by making desserts as he had a deep inclination towards cakes since his childhood days. Saikia’s favorite savory dish is Pasta. Through self-learning methods and references from online cooking channels, Saikia upgraded his skills in professional cooking.

In the promo telecasted earlier on MasterChef season 7, chef Vikas Khanna travelled thousands of kilometers to an Assamese home cook and bring him on the show as a participant. Khanna found him through his Instagram page and paid him a visit at his home and sampled the youngster’s culinary creation.

Santa Sharma (36) is a homemaker from Tezpur who is presently residing in Nagaon had started cooking at the age of eight.

Sharma lost her mother at a very young age and since then she learned to cook and with coming age, her passion for cooking grew. Sharma’s primary goal in Masterchef kitchen was to popularize the dishes from Assamese and Gorkha cultures, on the world stage.

Despite coming from modest backgrounds, Nayan and Santa have made the Assamese people proud with their culinary prowess.

Although there have been rumors and pics going viral showing Nayanjyoti Saikia winning the MasterChef title, it’s only on March 31 that one will get to know who will win the coveted crown.
