Massive fire breaks out at Dichang resort at Sonapur

A massive fire broke out this morning at the Dichang Resort in Sonapur, near Guwahati.

The fire broke out at around 5 a.m. today at the resort premises, which is among the most popular resorts in the city.

A marriage reception was held last evening on the premises of the resort.

The fire reportedly broke out at the makeshift pandal for the marriage reception this morning and soon spread to the other buildings within the resort premises.

Three LPG cylinders in the kitchen also exploded due to the fire, which aggravated the situation and caused heavy damage to the resort’s properties.

Fire tenders soon reached the spot and managed to douse the fire.
