Ever heard of 1 kg of tea being sold for Rs 1 lakh? Well, this is certainly what has happened at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre where at least 1 kg of ‘Manohari Gold’, a speciality tea brand was sold to Saurav Tea Traders for a whopping Rs. 99,999, thereby breaking all past records of GTAC.
Worth mentioning here, the tea brand has been a hit among consumers for the last four years.

He added that the tea is known for its variant characteristics of several health benefits. He also spoke about the journey of Manohari over the years.
“This is for the fourth year that Manohari gold has broken records in terms of price. The journey began in 2018 when we started manufacturing Manohari . That year it was sold for Rs 39,100. Later in 2019 it went up to Rs 50,000 and 2020 to Rs 75000,” he recounted.
Dinesh Behani, secretary of Guwahati Tea Auction Centre Buyers’ Association also expressed his satisfaction at Manohari’s record-breaking prices in the auctions.
