Man killed in road mishap in Assam’s Sarupathar
The incident occurred when a speeding car rammed over Deb, broke posts of several shops in the area, and landed in a pit.
In a tragic incident, a man has been allegedly killed in a road mishap in Sarupathar area of Assam on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Manjit Deb, who was on his way back from work on a bicycle.
Reportedly, the incident occurred when a speeding car rammed over Deb, broke posts of several shops in the area, and landed in a pit.
The driver of the four-wheeler has been identified as Deep Shekhar Das. There were also three other passengers in the vehicle.
Police reached the site and sent the body for post-mortem reports. Meanwhile, Deep and his fellow passengers were detained.
Locals have alleged that the driver was in an inebriated state when the tragic incident took place.
