As per inputs, BPF workers reportedly came under attack from unidentified miscreants

While polling was totally peaceful in the rest of the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat in Assam, a minor incident of poll violence was reported in the parliamentary seat during polling.

As per inputs, BPF workers reportedly came under attack from unidentified miscreants in front of the party’s central office. Three BPF supporters identified as Lwihwr Lwihwr Goyari, Dipunjay Brahma and Bharat Bhushan Narzary suffered injuries in the incident.

A video journalist working for a private news channel in Guwahati also came under the attack. The victims have been taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile the Additional SP Kokrajhar is investigating the matter.

Condemning the alleged attack, former Assam cabinet minister and a senior BPF leader, Pramila Rani Brahma said, “Not only this, some people were heard shouting Go Back, Go Back’ slogans near BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary’s farm house. Only after police reached the spot, the people who were sloganeering dispersed. If police had not come, than what could have happened?”

Hinting that BPF’s opponents in the elections were behind this, Pramila Rani Brahma without naming any party said, “They have not received attention in urban areas and equally in the rural areas. So they are disturbed.”
