The dismal condition of a road in Assam’s Hailakandi has forced people to take matters into their own hands.
Frustrated by waterlogging and the dismal condition of the road which connects Hailakandi with Bhairavnagar, locals have constructed a bridge over the waterlogged area so as to be able to cross the road without any hindrance.
Locals have stated that they approach local AIUDF MLA Nizamuddin Choudhary for repairing the road but to no avail.
Meanwhile, heavy storms sweeping over the state had earlier claimed 14 lives during mid-April. Thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall created havoc in 19 districts of Assam, affecting the lives of 25,483 people.
