Leopard seen roaming near Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, triggers panic

Forest officials are on the job and efforts are underway to trap the leopard

Shrinking forest cover has forced the wild animals to stray into human habitat and the situation is no different in Guwahati.

A leopard was seen roaming in an around the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) triggering panic in the area. The leopard was spotted near the GMCH auditorium in the wee hours today. The leopard reportedly was also seen preying on smaller animals nearby.

After alerted by locals, the Forest department officials have swung into action. Efforts are underway to trap the leopard and release it back into its natural habitat.
