Kamrup Metro Administration issues picnic SOP

The picnic goers cannot litter the picnic spots with plastic waste and garbage. They will have to clean their respective spots before leaving.

Kamrup Metropolitan administration has issued SOP for picnic revellers. All those planning to go on a picnic will have to obtain prior permission before visiting a picnic spot and would have to produce the permit when they arrive at the picnic spot. The picnic permit can be obtained from the Guwahati Police Commissioner.

The picnic goers cannot litter the picnic spots with plastic waste and garbage. They will have to clean their respective spots before leaving. Now picnic goers will also not be allowed to wash their dishes or clothes at the water bodies in the picnic spots.

Picnic goers will also not be able to indulge in fishing, boat riding or swimming at the picnic spots without prior permission from the authorities. Restriction has been put on loud music which may cause noise pollution in the area.

Picnic goers have also been directed not to engage in digging ditches, cutting trees or any such related activities at the picnic spots. Picnic goers will also not be allowed to pitch tents in the picnic spots.

Putting up electric connections at the spot won’t be allowed. Restrictions have been imposed on driving two wheelers and four vehicles upto the picnic spot.

Any violation would invite penalty.
