In response to the ongoing intense heatwave in Guwahati, the Kamrup Metro (M) District Administration has issued directives to all government-run as well as private schools to revise school timing and to take other proactive measures prioritizing the health and well-being of students effective September 21.
Additionally, schools are asked to arrange alternate power backups in case of power cuts.
Assam and other Northeastern regions are witnessing an unusual rise in temperatures and according to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the conditions will remain the same and day temperature likely to be above 4–5° Celcius for another 3-4 days.
