In a major breakthrough in its war on drugs, Assam Police today seized drugs from the residence of a female home guard in Barpeta district and detained three persons in connection with the seizure.
Among the detainees are–home guard Mira Das, Himangshu Das and Himashree Das.
Police, acting on a tip-off conducted a raid at Mira Das’ residence and seized 10 plastic vials and two soap cases containing suspected heroin. Police also seized Rs 70 thousand in cash from Mira Das’ residence.
Police said they will verify if Mira Das is a home guard in profession if she was faking it and after investigation, police will take proper action against them.
