In a sensational political twist, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary has claimed that former party leaders Chandan Brahma and Kampa Borgoyari, who recently quit the party and joined the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), are still working for him as undercover informants within the rival party.
Speaking to media on Monday, Mohilary said that the two leaders have not truly switched sides but are instead acting as “CID agents” for BPF, regularly feeding him inside information from the UPPL camp.
“Do not think that Chandan and Kampa will work for UPPL just because they have joined the party. They are still in my touch. I have sent them on deportation, they are my CID agents, feeding me inside info from UPPL. I sent them to find out what’s cooking in Pramod Boro’s mind,” said Mohilary.
With BTC elections approaching, this revelation adds a new layer of intrigue to the political battle in BTR, Mohilary’s bold statement raised questions about the true allegiance of the two leaders and the inner workings of the region’s political landscape.
Chandan Brahma and Kampa Borgoyari are yet to respond to these claims.
Former Vice President of BPF, Kampa Borgoyari has resigned from both his position and his primary membership of the party today after two decades of dedicated service and joined the UPPL on February 7.
Former 3-time Assam cabinet minister and deputy chief of the Bodo Territorial Council (BTC), Chandan Brahma joined the UPPL in April 2024.
