The man has exploited the victim financially, extorting Rs 1 lakh from her

A shocking case has surfaced in Guwahati, where a woman has been subjected to blackmail and exploitation for the past 14 years by a man for not accepting his proposal for an affair.

The accused has been identified as Pranjal Das. Das has not only blackmailed the woman but also physically assaulted her on multiple occasions.

Speaking to the media, the victim said, “He (Pranjal) has been blackmailing me and causing me immense mental distress for the past 14 years. He has threatened to kill me and has also made threats against my husband. Additionally, he has exploited me financially, extorting Rs 1 lakh from me so far.”

Shockingly, Pranjal Das has even proposed marriage to the victim’s daughter, further intensifying the trauma faced by the family.

However, despite these alarming actions, the victim claims that repeated complaints to the police over the years have not led to any meaningful intervention, leaving the family in a state of fear and helplessness.

“Distressed by the situation, I filed multiple complaints with the police, but so far, no concrete action has been taken,” the victim added.
