In a sensational incident, a beheaded body of a person was recovered near the B&G colony in Guwahati’s Bamunimaidam area on Monday morning. This the second murder the city has witnessed in a span of just 24 hours.

The deceased has been identified as Kajal Chandra Das who was a retired employee of the Railway Department.

According to reports, Das rung up his home last evening and had been missing ever since. The body was recovered by locals this morning.

Locals have also revealed that the location where the body was recovered is a hotspot for drug addicts and other illegal activities.

They further raised suspicion that people involved in the drug trade may have been involved in the gruesome murder.

However, a police investigation into the matter is underway.

Earlier, an AMTRON employee identified as Ajit Chetia. was reportedly found dead at his Boragaon residence with a bullet injury to his head.

After the preliminary investigation, the police suspected that the man was killed during burglary as valuable items from the house were found stolen.
