Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister emphasised on the government’s hard work to improve the state’s infrastructure and to ease traffic congestion in Guwahati by constructing flyovers in the shortest possible time.

He additionally talked about the upcoming flyovers in Guwahati and how they will help in addressing traffic issues.

Built at an estimated cost of Rs 420 crore, the Maligaon flyover is expected to ease the long traffic snarls that have been a major issue in the locality for a long time, said CM Sarma.

The work of the four-lane flyover is almost complete, as workers are giving the finishing touches to the flyover and setting up things for the grand inauguration.

Speaking about the beautification work of the flyover, CM Sarma said that the flyover will feature a rainbow arch and a globe at the Tiniali Junction. Moreover, traditional Assamese attire, musical instruments, scenic forests, animals, flora and fauna are also being painted beneath the flyover.

CM Sarma appealed to the people to not litter the new flyover and to help in keeping it clean.

Speaking about the under-construction flyover in Zoo Road, Chief Minister Sarma said that the flyover will be made open for the public on the 5th day of Navratri or Panchami of the Durga Puja festivities or before Diwali.
