After the news of three of a family from Nalbari in Assam missing in Sikkim post the devastating cloud-burst and floods, another resident of Assam, Deep Newar, a Gorkha Regiment soldier hailing from Nemuguri village in Moran, and a youth named Hiren Deuri, a resident of Guwahati are also missing from the flood-ravaged hill state.
But in some good news, rescuers managed to rescue budding Assam singer and a student at Sikkim Manipal Institute, Shruti Goswami who was stranded close to Singtam, one of the worst affected places.
Shruti is expected to reach Guwahati tomorrow, her mother said. Shruti was the second runners up at the singing reality show Voice of India.
Hiren Deuri’s family are a worried lot with no news coming in about his whereabouts. As per reports, Hiren had gone to Lachung from Gangtok on October 2.
Meanwhile, the whereabouts of the family from Nalbari in lower Assam is still not known. According to the relatives of the missing family, they last spoke to the them day before yesterday when they were at an Army relief camp but there has been no communication since. The missing family has been identified as Nazrul Islam, Najma Begum, and Mukuta Ahmed, residents of Barkhetri’s Borni Balapara area of Nalbari.
