Assam: Girl attacked for rejecting love proposal in Golaghat, critical

The accused has been identified as Rahul Hussain, a resident of Adharsatra in Golaghat

A girl in Assam’s Golaghat district was dragged by her hair and attacked with a machete and a hammer by a man as she rejected his love proposal.

The girl has been rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition. She is now undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The incident has been reported from Shantinagar area of Golaghat.

The accused has been identified as Rahul Hussain, a resident of Adharsatra in Golaghat.

Speaking to the media, the victim’s mother said that when her daughter was taking a walk with their pet dog by the roadside, Rahul Hussain came on a two-wheeler with a machete and a hammer, dragged her by her hair and stabbed her with the weapons, then fled the scene.

The victim girl alleged that the accused man tortured her for a long time since she rejected his love proposal.

A case has been registered against the accused.

An investigation into the matter is underway and efforts are on to nab Rahul Hussain.
