Killer well: Elephant calf falls into well, dies; 2nd such incident in 24 hours

Another elephant calf drowned in the same well just 24 hours ago while it tried to drink water from the well on Wednesday morning
In a very tragic incident, an elephant calf died after falling into a well at Badlapara Tea Garden in Udarguri district of Assam this morning.
As per inputs, the elephant calf with its herd had ventured out of the forest into the tea garden in search of food.
On their way back to the jungle, the elephant calf came across the well and fell into its depths.
After noticing the elephant calf trapped in the well, locals made several attempts to rescue it, but they failed, and the calf eventually died.
This is the second incident of its kind that occurred in the area within 24 hours. Another elephant calf drowned while trying to drink water from the well on Wednesday morning and fell into it.
