CM Sarma requested Muslim women to produce two children only and make them doctors, engineers, sportsperson and not just clerics
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday lashed out at AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal for his remarks on Hindus asking them to marry early like Muslims and produce more children. The Chief Minister said that he does not want Muslim votes but what he wants is that Muslims produce only that many children whom they can make doctors, engineers, teachers, professionals and not just clerics. He wants the community to progress and be free from people like Ajmal.
“I do not want your votes. I want your children to do well in life so that Muslim community can be free from people like Ajmal and progress with education and culture. I would like to appeal to women from the Muslim community to not produce more than 2 children so that you can make made doctors, teachers, engineers and professionals and not just clerics” the CM said.
“I would like to appeal to women from the Muslim community, do not listen to Ajmal. Do not produce more than 2 children. When a child is born we expect them to do well in their careers and shape a new Assam. They should be like Nayanmoni Saikia, Hima Das, Lovlima Borgohain,” the CM said addressing the gathering in Bongaigaon.
