Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Superfast Express to run four times a week

The decision to increase the frequency of the Vivek Superfast Express was taken to meet the growing demand for travel between Dibrugarh and Kanyakumari

The frequency of Vivek Superfast Express, the longest-distance train operated by the Indian Railways between Dibrugarh and Kanyakumari has been increased its frequency from twice a week to four times a week starting today, May 7.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, special flag-off ceremony was held today.

The ceremony was presided over by Rameswar Teli, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, in the presence of Prasanta Phukan, MLA Dibrugarh, and Uttam Prakash, DRM TSK. The event was attended by railway officials and members of the public.

The train will now depart from Dibrugarh on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and return from Kanyakumari on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays.

The new schedule provides passengers with more options to choose from and greater flexibility in planning their travel.

The Vivek Express has been serving students, patients, pilgrims, and passengers with the noble spirit of “service to man is service to God,” as espoused by Swami Vivekananda.

The train has consistently been in high demand, with 100 percent occupancy on all segments.
The train covers a distance of 4189 kilometers, connecting Dibrugarh with Kanyakumari through Dimapur, Guwahati, New Jalpaiguri, Bardhamann, Kharagpur, Cuttack, Vishakapatanam, Vijayawada, Palakad, and Thiruvanathapuram, providing a comfortable and convenient mode of travel for passengers.

The train will depart from Dibrugarh at 19:25 and start from Kanyakumari at 17:25 on the return journey.
