The Pramod Boro-led Bodoland Territorial Council added two new MCLAs to its Executive Council. Nominated candidate Wilson Hasda has been elevated as Executive Member (EM) in the council to handle important portfolios.

The two new candidates- Wilson Hasda and Dhananjay Basumatary took oath on Thursday in presence of Chief Executive Member (CEM), Pramod Boro, Deputy chief, Gobinda Basumatary, BTC Principal Secretary Shantanu P. Gotmare and EMs at the Assembly Hall in Kokrajhar.

Speaking to Newslive, Wilson Hasda said, “I feel very good and happy for being elected as an EM. It is really unexpected. I am happy as I will be able to work for the public now. Special thanks to Pramod Boro.”

“I will be looking after the Urban Development, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Seed and the IT department,” Hasda added.

Hasda said that he would be working for the unemployed youths, school dropouts and entrepreneurs from the BTR area.

Speaking about various problems and issues that tribes have to face in the BTR area, Hasda said that the CEM had given full assurance to help them.

“Even before the elections, Pramod Boro had assured that the issues of tribal people will be resolved. We have two organizations that are in ceasefire mode, student organisations and other socio-cultural organisations, and we are already discussing our issues with Pramod Boro through them,” said Hasda.
