Elated over the development, Ayesha shared her thoughts in a post on X.

She wrote, “Thank you for all your lovely messages. What an incredible, special day spent with family & friends. Especially my amazing parents who came here as Indian Muslim immigrants & worked so very hard. It is genuinely the honour of my life to join the House of Lords as a Labour peer.”

One of them wrote, “Huge Congratulations Ayesha. I know you’ll be a peer who will actually try to do some good and with a modern viewpoint. All best Vorders x.”

Another individual posted, “So many congratulations – wonderful picture of a very special occasion “

Baroness Hazarika was supported by fellow Labour peers Lord Dubs and Baroness Kennedy of the Shaws.

Sharing a photo with both of them, Ayesha Hazarika in a post on X stated, “I love this photo so much! Taken just after the big moment with my wonderful sponsors @AlfDubs & @HelenaKennedyKC who formally introduced me to the Lords. Two wonderful people who are a huge political inspiration to me.”
