Assam’s Dima Hasao still reeling for deluge aftermath

Assam Rifles is coming to the aid of the villagers for whom it has become near to impossible to make situation fall back in place.

As the situation in Assam’s Dima Hasao district is gradually returning back to normalcy, it seems all is still not well in the hill district.

Topodisa is one such village in the district which witnessed massive landslides after the incessant rains. in the village, many houses and parked vehicles were damaged as they were toppled down with debris of heavy landslides.

With no assessment been made till date, the actual loss in the village has not been ascertained. The damages to dwelling houses caused by landslides have become a serious matter of concern with as many as 35 houses damaged out of 125 in the village.

Likewise, in the Johoya Raji village, many houses have been damaged. The recent landslides due to heavy rain have damaged at least 15 dwelling houses of Johoya Raji.

The woes of the villagers have reached such a level that the villagers are not afraid of staying at their house as it might be crashed any moment due to landslide.

Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles is coming to the aid of the villagers for whom it has become near to impossible to make situation fall back in place.

The Assam Rifles is also providing recovery assistance for the vehicles that were toppled down by the landslides.
