Assam: Youth found dead in Tezpur under mysterious circumstances

The body of a youth was found under mysterious circumstances in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Wednesday morning.

The incident took place in the Khalihamari area in Tezpur. The deceased has been identified as Bishram Barla (21).

As per inputs, the body was first noticed by locals in Debendra Nagar and immediately informed the police.

It is suspected that the deceased had strangulation marks around his neck which indicated that he was murdered.

The police have initiated an investigation into the issue.

However, the motive behind the alleged murder is not yet known.

More details are awaited in this regard.

On Tuesday, a 17-year-old boy was arrested for the alleged rape and murder of a 6-year-old girl in Barpeta district.

According to police, the minor was allegedly murdered at Baghbar Mouripam in Barpeta district on January 29.

The body of the minor was found inside a sack at a house in the same village.
