Assam: Woman’s body found floating in Brahmaputra River

Acting promptly, the locals informed the police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel regarding the matter.

Sensation prevailed in the area after a dead body of an unidentified woman was found floating in the Brahmaputra River at Laharighat in Assam’s Morigaon district on Saturday morning.

As per inputs, since morning, the locals of the area spotted a dead body afloat in the water.

Acting promptly, the locals informed the police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel regarding the matter.

The identity of the woman and details like where did the body come from, are yet to be ascertained.

Last month too, a dead body of a missing cop was found floating in a waterbody inside its battalion complex in Nagaon district.

The incident took place in Barahmapur, Nagaon district.
