Assam War On Drugs: Contraband around Rs 15 cr seized in separate incidents
In a major success in Assam's war on drugs, the state police seized 2 kilograms of heroin worth a whopping Rs 14 crore from Bokajan.
In a significant breakthrough for security forces, a huge quantity of contraband worth over Rs 39 lakhs have been recovered from Lumding in Assam.
The contraband substances seized from the Agartala-Siyaldah Kanchanjunga Express includes ganja and Burmese supari. A total of 6 packets of Ganja weighing 78 kilograms and 84 bags of Burmese supari weighing 6720 kilograms were seized during the operation.
As per information, the seized Ganja is worth over Rupees 8 lakh in the market while the Burmese supari is worth over Rupees 31 lakhs 90 thousand.
Moreover, in a major success in Assam’s war on drugs, the state police seized 2 kilograms of heroin worth a whopping Rs 14 crore from Bokajan.
As per inputs, the contraband was seized while it was being brought from Dimapur to Guwahati, concealed in 152 plastic soap containers.
Meanwhile, two drug peddlers have been arrested by the Assam Police. They have been identified as Stephen from Manipur and Raku Baipo of Nagaland.
