Assam to Host Advantage 2.0 Summit in February 2025

CM informed that the state delegations will promote the event overseas, and a 'Jhumur' dance performance will highlight Assam's cultural heritage.

Assam is all set to host the second Advantage Assam Summit in February next year. The summit will be known as Advantage Summit 2.0 and will focus on the two issues of investment and infrastructure.

Addressing the media today, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and aims to enhance Assam’s economic appeal.

The ‘Advantage Assam 2.0—the Global Infrastructure and Investors’ Summit’ is scheduled from February 24-25, with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman invited for the closing session.

Several sessions related to investment and infrastructure would be held during the course of the Summit. Several union ministers will also be attending the summit.

CM Sarma informed that this time, besides investment, the focus will also be on infrastructure. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan among others will be invited to inaugurate various sessions on infrastructure.

CM also informed that the state delegations will promote the event overseas, and a ‘Jhumur’ dance performance will highlight Assam’s cultural heritage.

The inaugural summit in 2018 secured Rs 1 lakh crore in investment commitments despite setbacks due to COVID-19.
