Year after year the Assam Police Sub-Inspector recruitment exam has brewed fresh controversies in its wake. Its last edition saw the leak of the the written examination paper in 2020.

In the latest turn of events, the question paper of the SI recruitment exam conducted on Sunday allegedly went viral all over social media.

After the past controversies, the examination for recruitment of sub-inspectors was conducted under strict surveillance.

Mobile phones or any gadgets of both candidates and invigilators were banned in the examination centers.

It was also mandatory for the candidates to submit the question papers along with the answer scripts before leaving the examination hall.

Given the rules, speculations have surfaced as to how the question paper can go viral on social media or is it that the paper was leaked as in previous times.

Earlier on September 20, 2020, the question paper of the written examination for 597 posts of unarmed sub-inspectors in Assam Police was leaked following which the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam, canceled the test minutes after it had commenced.

Around 66,000 candidates appeared in the written test across 154 centres in all the districts of Assam.
