Assam: Shocking brutality caught on camera, elderly woman thrashed in the middle of road

The incident reportedly took place in Guwahati's Lutuma area.
A shocking incident, where an elderly woman was mercilessly assaulted by a person in broad daylight in the heart of Guwahati city has put humanity to shame.
What is even more shameful is that many onlookers shamefully recorded the incident rather than helping the person in distress, while the assault continued. Dragged to middle of a busy street, the helpless elderly woman was thrashed by the attacker.
A video has gone viral shows that clearly shows the brutal incident and has now caught the attention of many.
Although the reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, the shocking act coupled with the silence of the onlookers is just not shameful but extremely insensitive too.
Traumatized over what had happened, the victim in a feeble voice said, “Nobody came to help me, everyone was watching.”
However, it is unclear as of now on whether the police have taken suo moto congnizance of the matter or an FIR has been filed into the case.
The incident took place at Kahilipara’s Lutuma area on Friday (November 24) at around 4.30 pm.
