The accused had been professing his love for the girl for a long time but was thwarted in his efforts time and again
A scorned lover from Assam’s Kaliabor town attacked a girl and her family members with a knife after the girl did not respond to his advances on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Rajiv Das of Kulidunga village.
The accused had been professing his love for the girl for a long time but was thwarted in his efforts time and again. The family of the girl reported about the man’s disturbing behaviour to the police.
It was on Friday that Das lost his cool and attacked the girl and her family. He barged into her house in the evening and injured the girl and her family members with the knife.
The visibly shaken girl, while speaking to the media, said, “He has been blackmailing me to love him back. He did all this because I didn’t talk to him. He entered the house, wounded three people and left.”
The injured are currently being treated at the Tezpur Medical Hospital. Rajiv Das is currently absconding and a hunt is underway to arrest him.
