Assam Rifles rescues 6 abducted victims, 5 NSCN cadres arrested

In a big success for the Assam Rifles, 5 NSCN rebels were arrested for their involvement in the kidnapping cases
In a big breakthrough for Assam Rifles and a big blow to NSCN’s kidnapping for extortion plans, Assam Rifles has rescued at least 6 individuals who were kidnapped by the NSCN-IM for the purpose of extortion. It was a daring operation as it was carried out a little past midnight to rescue the abducted persons who were held captive in Dimapur. It may be mentioned that all the 6 persons were kidnapped between April 13 to April 27 from different areas.
Those rescued by the Assam Rifles include-
- Mulutayo Kezo, Headmaster of Government High School, Kikruma, Phek-kidnapped on April 25
- Akito Sumi, Burma camp, Dimapur-kidnapped on April 27
- Raju Gupta, Judge Bazaar village, Aarah Dist, Bihar-kidnapped on April 21
- Raj Kumar Das, Lanka village, Assam- kidnapped on April 21
- Piyar Ali, Lahorijan village, Karbi Anglong, Assam- kidnapped on April 13 &
- Huvito Sumi, Half Nagarjan vill, Dimapur- kidnapped on April 27.
Meanwhile, in a big success for the Assam Rifles, 5 NSCN rebels were arrested for their involvement in the kidnapping cases. The arrested NSCN cadres have been identified as Khenito Assumi, Neison, Mughahuto, Chonpenthung Murry, Katoho Yeptho.
According to a press statement, the abducted individuals have been rescued from Bamanpikhri House-apparently an illegal place for similar nefarious activities by the NSCN.
