Assam Rifles Relief column in Haflong to provide relief to over 1000 stranded passengers

Heavy rainfall, multiple landslides have led to disruption of rail communication between Haflong and Guwahati.

Acting promptly, a Relief Column of Assam Rifles was moved to New Haflong Railway station. The troops provided relief to over 1000 stranded passengers in terms of food, drinking water, and basic medical assistance.

The Assam Rifles column also took over security around the Railway station and worked in close coordination with Civil Administration to prevent any law and order contingency arising out of the tense situation.

In coordination with the Civil Administration, the stranded passengers were evacuated back to Guwahati from Haflong Railway station by rerouting trains.
