In a sensational incident, notorious poacher Asmat Ali alias Nalko managed to escape from the clutches of Assam Police.
The poacher, who was apprehended in Kerala, had been brought back to Assam where he managed to get away from the police custody in Biswanath.
Reportedly, Ali managed to free himself from the clutches of the police and jump into the Brahmaputra river. Ali had been taken to a spot near the riverside where he claimed to have hidden some rhino horns and some ammunition.
However, he reportedly managed to flee from the clutches of the police and jumped into the river with his hands still cuffed.
35 year old Ali had been wanted for poaching several rhino in the Kaziranga National Park over the years and was also carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakhs on his head.
