The Assam government has stepped up its campaign against illegal timber smugglers. With the Assam police, the MLAs have also sprung into action against the illegal smugglers.
Digboi MLA Suren Phukan on Saturday night intercepted a truck carrying smuggled wood in Digboi, Assam.
According to the information, the truck was brought from Namphai in Arunachal’s Changlang district.
Assam police has handed over the truck full of wood to the Digboi Forest Department.
MLA Suren Phukan has now sought support from the public to stop illegal timber smuggling.
