Will the Assam and Meghalaya governments strike the final deal today on the inter-state boundary issue?
A historic decision may be on the cards with Union Home Minister Amit Shah likely to hold the all crucial meeting with the two CMs Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad Sangma today.
As per Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma, Union home minister Amit Shah will be meeting them at 4:30 PM today.
It needs to be mentioned that both the states had engaged in multiple round of discussions at the Chief Ministerial level to find a solution to the dispute in as many as 6 out of the 12 areas of difference.

Even Regional Committees were constituted at the local level by both the state governments to resolve issues.
All out efforts have been made to resolve issues in 6 areas of differences in the first phase-out of the total 12 identified areas of dispute.
Now, all eyes are set on the proposed crucial meeting between Assam and Meghalaya in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
