Shantanu Rai, a resident of Dhubri, was allegedly abducted from the Ministers’ Colony in Dispur, Guwahati. The Ministers’ Colony houses the official residences of all the Assam Ministers including the Chief Minister of Assam.

Shantanu was working on some electrical connections along with two other people in the Colony when 4 men, 2 in police attire and 2 in civil clothes, came and took Shantanu away.

The incident has created a stir in the area, because it is supposed to be a high-security area with the Secretariat, Assam Assembly building and the MLA hostel all in the same area. The Dispiur Police Station too is just a stone’s throw away.
