The winter session of the Assam Legislative Assembly has begun today.
As per the latest inputs, the five-day session will see the presentation of several key bills which include the Assam Cattle Preservation Amendment Bill 2021, the Assam Excise Amendment Bill 2021, the Assam Recruitment Commission for Analogous Posts from class 3 and 4 Bill 2021 among others.

Meanwhile, the session today began on a stormy note when Congress MLA Kamalakhya Dey Purkaystha raised questions on the Department for the Preservation and Promotion of Indigenous Faiths and Cultures.
Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika, while responding to Purkaystha, said Congress should not humiliate the indigenous tribes of Assam.
The five-day session will be concluded on December 24, 2021.
