Police and the Engineering College authorities are tight lipped.
An emotional father of the deceased has appealed for justice and sought Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s intervention. He said, “I sent him to study engineering in 2016. He passed the 8th semester but he could not clear one subject. To take that exam he had gone to JEC on April 5, he had exam on April 8. We were not aware that he died on April 6. His friend Ajay Kalita informed us about the death on April 7. We were depressed when media reports stated that he died after consuming drugs. We had nothing left to do but only wait for the post mortem report. We have received the report and want justice because he was hit in the head with a heavy object”.
“None of the authorities from the college spoke to us about the matter. I request CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to take necessary action so that no such incidents occur again. We want that the perpetrators must be identified and booked as per law,” the grieving father further said.
