Assam Govt to hold special TET exams on April 30

Assam government will hold a special Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) examination in the state on April 30 for the recruitment of lower primary and upper primary teachers in the state.
This special TET examination will be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) only for six districts included in the sixth schedule–Kokrajhar, Baksa, Udalguri, Dima Hasao, Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong, informed state education minister Ranoj Pegu today.

The submission of online registration has started today and will end on 25 March 2023.
The admit card will be released on 15 April 2023, said reports.

Although the examinations will be conducted by SEBA the appointing authority will be the autonomous council of the districts, said the education minister.

There will be two papers for the Assam TET. Paper-I is for candidates who want to teach in the lower primary and paper II is for those who want to teach in the upper primary.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. Lower primary – Senior secondary passed with at least a 50% marks average and a two-year diploma or a four-year bachelor’s in elementary education or special education.
  2. Upper primary – Graduation and a 2-year diploma in elementary education or 50% marks in Graduation or post-graduation or 4 years bachelor in elementary education.
