Eknath Shinde readily agreed to his proposal and invited him to visit Mumbai once for having an in-depth discussion about the project.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that a temple similar to Kamakhya temple will be built somewhere in Maharashtra as Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is an enthusiastic devotee of the Goddess and has already given his nod about this project.
While speaking to media, Chief Minister Sarma said that when his Maharashtra counterpart visited Assam, he had put forward a proposal of building a Kamakhya temple and namghar (Prayer House) in Maharashtra.
Chief Minister Sarma further added that Eknath Shinde readily agreed to his proposal and invited him to visit Mumbai once for having an in-depth discussion about the project.
Chief Minister Sarma added that he is looking forward to the meeting and is hoping that it will take place soon.
Sarma stated that Assam government has land near Mumbai, but they would like to wait for the Eknath Shinde government’s offer as it could be in a better place to building the temple and the naam ghar.
CM further added that the state government is investing Rs 600 crore to build a corridor at Kamakhya temple atop the Nilachal Hills similar to the Kashi Vishwanath corridor in Varanasi.
