A 21-year-old girl from Assam has been found dead in her rented house in Delhi’s Dwarka area.
The deceased was a resident of Cachar district.
The police said prima facie she was murdered by her long-time partner and accused Dev Raj Karmakar (24).
On Saturday, after receiving inputs, a team of Delhi Police rushed to the spot and found the victim lying dead on the floor in a pool of blood with multiple cut/stabbing injuries on the throat and hands, while the accused was found sitting near the main gate of the flat with cut injury on his hand.
As per enquiry conducted so far, both the deceased and accused met each other in 2021 at Silchar and came to Delhi. She started working as a gym trainer in Any Time Gym at Sector 23, Dwraka and Dev Raj Karmakar as a delivery boy in Blinkit.
After some time, they returned back to Silchar. In May this year, they went to Delhi once again and started living together at a rented accommodation in Pochanpur Delhi.
Last night, the couple got into a fight over the alleged affair of the girl with someone else. After heated arguments, Karmakar attacked Sneha with a knife.
During the scuffle, the accused also suffered injuries on his hand. He is under treatment at a hospital in Dwraka.
A case of murder has been registered. Further investigation into the murder is underway.
