Assam flood situation worsens: Number of districts affected goes up from 6 to 11 in a day

As per Assam State Disaster Management Authority, Brahmaputra, Beki, Disang, Dikhou rivers are flowing above the danger mark.
Over 45,354 people 154 villages of 11 districts of Assam are reeling under floods.
As per data released by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) till August 27, the 11 worst affected districts include- Biswanath, Chirang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Sonitpur and Tamulpur.
Till yesterday the rivers flowing above the danger mark are Brahmaputra, Beki, Disang and Dikhou, the ASDMA report said.
The situation worsened within 24 hours between August 26 and 27. Though the number of affected people went down from 53, 343 to 45,354 people, the number of affected districts went up from 6 to 11 between August 26 and 27.
On August 26 only six districts were affected by floods – Chirang, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur and Udalguri.
Until August 25, only 3 districts- Chirang, Dhemaji, Kokrajhar were affected by floods.
