The former Rajya Sabha MP and Assam Congress leader Ripun Bora may be jumping ship to the Trinamool Congress soon, sources informed.
Sources have informed Northeast Live that the top Assam Congress leader will be joining the TMC in a day or two at the Kolkata based party headquarters.
However, Ripun Bora has played down the rumours & denied any speculations of him joining the TMC party.
Bora joining TMC will be another major blow to the Congress after Susmita Dev shifting her allegiance to Mamata Banerjee-led party earlier last year.
Earlier, Ripun Bora contested for the Rajya Sabha seat from Assam on March 31 where he lost to UPPL candidate Rwngwra Narzary due to fractured voting of the opposition MLAs leading to an internal blame game with the Congress party itself.
