Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will embark on a two-day visit to Singapore starting tomorrow to promote ‘Advantage Assam’ and highlight the state’s potential in emerging industries.

It may be mentioned here that Singapore is the first partner country for the Advantage Assam 2.0 Global Investment Summit scheduled to be held on February 25 in Guwahati. The Country remains a crucial part of the state’s global investment strategy.

During the visit, Chief Minister Sarma will showcase Assam’s growing prospects in sectors such as semiconductors, deep technology, infrastructure, and manufacturing.

A key highlight of the trip will be a high-profile roadshow aimed at attracting global investors and positioning Assam as an emerging hub for advanced industries and innovation.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma will also hold one-on-one meetings with industry leaders and business delegates to explore strategic collaborations and investment opportunities.

The visit aligns with the state government’s broader vision to boost economic growth and strengthen Assam’s position as a key investment destination in India.

This international outreach initiative is expected to pave the way for new partnerships, furthering Assam’s development agenda in the global business landscape.

For the first time, Assam Ministers have been visiting key international locations like Singapore, Dubai, London, and Thailand to attract global investors in sectors such as infrastructure, electronics, aerospace, renewable energy, tourism, and more.

Earlier in January, CM Sarma visited Japan and South Korea where he conducted roadshows, met about 250 industry leaders and extended invitations to Korean and Japanese industries.

Before visiting Japan and South Korea, Assam CM Sarma held a meeting in New Delhi with ambassadors from 36 countries, presenting Assam as a rising industrial hub. Additionally, his cabinet ministers are conducting roadshows in major global cities, including Dubai, London, and Bangkok, to showcase the state’s opportunities and attract investments.

Minister of Industries & Commerce, Bimal Borah visited Dubai, where he held a mega roadshow on January 15. Minister Borah also met with business leaders, including the Transworld Group, a multinational shipping conglomerate. Such partnerships are expected to boost Assam’s exports by improving logistics services especially because of the state’s resource-rich economy, which includes tea, oil, and natural gas.

The Minister also highlighted Assam’s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage as key attractions for tourism.

He also visited London and held a roadshow on January 17, promoting Assam’s business-friendly environment and focusing on sectors like renewable energy and tourism.

State IT and Science and Technology Minister Keshab Mahanta visited Malaysia, where he met with Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry Chin Tong Liew, in Kuala Lumpur on January 14. The discussions focused on attracting semiconductor investments to Assam, aiming to integrate the state into the global high-tech manufacturing chain.

Minister Mahanta also hosted a roadshow in Malaysia, drawing participation from over 150 businesses, and highlighted the state’s growing investment opportunities.
