Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been ranked among the top 100 influential leaders of the country by a survey done by the national daily Indian Express.
Chief Minister Sarma, who is one of the top strategists of the BJP and called the Chanakya of Northeast has been ranked in 32nd position this year as compared to 2021 where he was placed in the 60th spot.
Goes without saying, Chief Minister Sarma has also been termed BJP’s most powerful Chief Minister in the Northeast and the dean of the political circuit in the region.
After his impactful campaigning in Manipur which ensured a sweeping victory for the BJP in the state, Sarma’s role will be key in the elections to three northeastern states of Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland, expected to be held early next year.
