Addressing a gathering on the occasion, CM Sarma who is also the local MLA, said it was time for the youth of the constituency to become employment generators rather than employment seekers.
CM Sarma also informed that the percentage of 1st division holders in HSLC exams has increased by 700 percent in Jalukbari, his home constituency, when compared to the results in 2002 with only 2000 students securing 1st division that year.
Chief Minister Sarma also noted that when he took charge as the health minister in 2006 there were only 300 medical seats in Assam. The number has now risen to 1150 and another 300 seats will be added next year.
