As a part of Rongali Bihu celebrations, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended a special Bihu programme at Karbi Anglong along with his family.
The minister is on a three-day visit to the district where he will also review the preparations ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on April 28.
Besides Bihu, the minister has also enjoyed the cultural performances of Karbi, Dimasa, kuki, Hmar, Tiwa and Boro communities.
Taking to Twitter, the minister wrote: “Spent some memorable moments with my family during celebration of Rongali Bihu organised by Karbi Sanskritik Samaj at Taralangso, Diphu.”

Chief Minister Sarma was joined by CEM of Karbi Anlong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Tuliram Ronhang, MP Horen Singh Bey and MLAs Bidya Sing Engleng, Rupsing Teron and Darsing Ronghang.
Padma Shri Rongbong Terang and Karbi Sanskritik Samaj president Chandrasing Kro were also present during the event.
