After two years under the shadow of pandemic, along with the rest of the country Assam is observing the holy Eid-ul-Fitr in a grand way today. After the completion of Roja or fasting on Ramzaan on Monday, followers of Islam across the state are celebrating Eid with much gaiety. Community namaaz have been organized in several idgahs and mosques of the state.
In a welcome sight for traders, markets too witnessed a heavy footfall of customers in the past few days for eid festivities.
It may be mentioned here that Eid celebrations were held in a low-key affair in the last two years owing to Covid pandemic. However, with the situation fairly improving this time around, people will be observing Eid without strict restrictions.
