The Assam Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday, January 1, has sanctioned Rs. 418.72 crore for crucial projects aimed at improving infrastructure and public services across the state.
A significant portion of the funds, Rs. 210.8 crore, has been allocated for 104 rural connectivity projects, benefiting 12 districts. These projects are expected to bolster rural infrastructure and enhance accessibility, significantly improving the quality of life in remote areas.
Another Rs. 207.92 crore has been approved for urban water supply projects in Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, and North Lakhimpur under the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF). This initiative aims to ensure clean drinking water for urban households, aligning with the government’s “Har Ghar Jal” mission.
