This initiative marks a significant moment in Assam-Arunachal relations, going beyond territorial disputes to focus on shared heritage and peaceful coexistence.
Amid ongoing efforts to resolve long-standing boundary disputes, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh have taken a significant step toward fostering peace and brotherhood.
A shining example of this commitment is the construction of a Namghar and Heritage Centre at Namsang in Tirap district, Arunachal Pradesh, a historic project symbolising unity between the two states.
The initiative, a dream project of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Naharkatia MLA Taranga Gogoi, and Arunachal Pradesh Forest Minister Wanki Lowang, aims to strengthen cultural and communal bonds.
Assam Chief Minister has sanctioned a Rs 5 crore budget, with the first installment of Rs 2 crore already released to bring this vision to life.
The Arunachal Pradesh government has generously provided 3 bighas of land for the project, while also taking charge of constructing the approach road.
The project is being closely monitored on the ground by MLA Taranga Gogoi, Dibrugarh District Commissioner Bikram Kairi, Minister Wanki Lowang, and Zila Parishad Member Wanphoon Lowang, ensuring smooth progress.
For the 80 Assamese families residing in the Deomali area of Tirap, the upcoming Namghar and Heritage Centre is more than just a place of worship, it is a symbol of identity, belonging, and cultural preservation.
Expressing their deep gratitude to CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, the community has welcomed the initiative with immense joy and enthusiasm.
This initiative marks a significant moment in Assam-Arunachal relations, going beyond territorial disputes to focus on shared heritage and peaceful coexistence.
With leaders from both states working in unison, the Namghar and Heritage Centre in Tirap is set to become a beacon of harmony, fostering lasting goodwill between communities.
